Biology
Biology, the science of life, is arguably one of the most important and most applicable sciences to every day existence. It’s the study of us, how our bodies work, and the study of the living world around us.
Every week you hear more and more about how molecular biology is changing the field of medicine, and the huge potential future of biotechnology, synthetic biology, and personalized medicine. We are coming closer and closer to understanding the molecular workings of our cells.
But biology is the study of many things, including ecology, population genetics, behavior and much more. The functioning of biological systems, on both the microscopic and macroscopic levels is fascinating. From the individual proteins, to cells, to the functioning of organs in the body, all the way up to the interactions that occur within entire ecosystems, biology is the study of what it means to be alive.
Several of our tutors are competent biology tutors. As the top graduate from UCSD in molecular biology in 2006, Justin, the founder of the company, was able to assemble a team of very highly qualified biologists. All of our tutors know how to help with difficult conceptual material and explain it in a way that makes it clear.
Additionally, all our biology tutors are very experienced with upper division college biology. Because of this extra knowledge, they can easily pinpoint problems students are having in lower division and high school biology. They can then bridge those gaps and help students to get a complete and comprehensive knowledge of the subject that will help them drastically improve their understanding of biology, as well as their grades.
Not only do our tutors have text book knowledge of biology but they all have practical experience as well. Justin (our founder) has worked at the Scripps Research Institute, UCSD, and Pfizer. He even has a paper published in the Journal of Molecular Biology. He looks for tutors who also have practical hands-on knowledge of their subject material. Our tutors can use this knowledge to help students understand labs and the importance of biology outside the classroom, something not many teachers can offer.
